How to Make Machine Embroidery Patches

We wanted to make a custom diaper bag but not a bag expert had us turning to take a normal diaper bag and adding patches to customize it.

Recently, we threw a Pixar Theme Baby Shower and wanted a diaper bag to match. So, we turned to the Brother Stellaire XJ1 to help us make patches.

Never having made one before, I jumped right in. After making a few, I created this video to show others how easy it is. It sounds hard, but if you have the machine function it’s easy.

 

Making a Patch on the Brother Stellaire

 

Machine: Brother Stellaire

Thread: Robinson – Anton embroidery thread

Needles:

Washaway Stabilizer: Silky Water Soluble

(There are many brands on the market, this is what I got when I first started because its a trusted brand.)

Canvas or Denim Fabric

Scissors: Curved Embroidery and Normal Fabric 

Mickey Mouse, Olaf, Aliens, T-Rex, Cars, and Simba are from the Brother Stellaire Machine. Minion is an embroidery file we own and made into a patch.
